From Hanuman The Kandawgyi Palace, on the shores of the tranquil Kandawgyi Lake (Royal Lake), was originally opened in 1934 as the Rangoon Rowing Club. Membership in those days was restricted to foreigners and their invited guests. Now it is open to all and one of the most popular 4* hotels in Yangon.
